Managing the “Mighty” Mouse Tour

The Mouse River begins in Saskatchewan, winds its way into north-central North Dakota, then turns north and returns to Canada. In Canada, the river is known as the Souris, the French word for mouse; however, a 1961 North Dakota law states the river, while in North Dakota, is to be called the Mouse River. This tour will focus on sites around Minot and the surrounding region, including the Water Treatment Plant/HMGP Floodwall, Mouse River Enhanced Flood Protection Project – Burlington Phase, Highway 83 Bypass, and the Mouse River Enhanced Flood Protection Project Phases 1, 2 and 3 through Minot, which are currently under construction. This half-day tour begins and ends in Minot.
