North Dakota Summer Water Tours:
Offering a Firsthand Look at Critical Water Issues and Initiatives
The North Dakota Water Education Foundation invites the public to participate in its annual water tours this summer across North Dakota. These tours offer a firsthand look at North Dakota’s critical water issues and initiatives. Visit sites across the state in a series of one-day tours which include a variety of professionals and local leaders representing different viewpoints.
Tour participants learn about water supply, fish and wildlife conservation, water quality, flood protection, water conservation, irrigation, and beneficial water use.
Registration is $40 per person per tour and includes tour transportation, lunch, refreshments, informational materials, and a one-year digital subscription to the North Dakota Water magazine.
The 2026 summer water tours are:
- Carrington – Tuesday, June 30 – Meeting Water Supply Needs in Central North Dakota and the Red River Valley
- Watford City – Thursday, July 16 – Industry Growth Fueled by Water
- Dickinson – Thursday, July 30 – Bully! For a Sustainable Future
- Belcourt – Monday, August 3 – A Tribal View of Water
- Bismarck – Wednesday, August 12 – Protecting and Regenerating for a Positive Outlook
