North Dakota Water : A Century of Challenge
The North Dakota Water Education Foundation (NDWEF) published North Dakota Water: A Century of Challenge detailing the early challenges and successes in the management of water resources in North Dakota.
The 207-page book includes chapters on water directors, engineers and projects beginning with a forward by former NDWEF Executive Director Mike Dwyer. The North Dakota Water Hall of Famer recalls the hard work of many water leaders in the state.
The book recognizes many of the great water accomplishments of that time, including the Garrison Diversion, the Southwest Water Pipeline Project and the decades-long fight to control flooding along the Red River.
The book is free (just pay shipping). To order a Water History book contact ND Water staff at staff@ndwater.net or 701-223-8332.
